The book starts out with a piece of basswood and builds on it with a project at a time. First you layout the plans, then you carve a ball at the end of the basswood, then you cut flat panes in another section, Then a cylinder in cage, a wooden chain, then finally a ball in cage. Each project is accompanied with photos showing the stages of layout, initial cutting, etc.
